Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a video message to the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda on Monday.

During his speech, he discussed some of the most critical concerns, including Covid, climate change, cryptocurrency, and his government’s reforms and measures to make doing business easier.

Speech by PM

“India is commemorating the 75th anniversary of its independence. At the same time, the country’s population received 156 crore vaccine doses “he stated.

He went on to say, “India has given the globe a bouquet of hope.” “It involves our faith in democracy, as well as our technological capabilities, temperament, and talent. Our multilingual, multicultural environment is not just a source of strength for us, but also for the rest of the globe”, he stated.

He went on to say that changing one’s lifestyle was critical in combating the climate catastrophe. “Today’s throwaway lifestyle and materialism have exacerbated the climate crisis.”

According to Modi, “In order to achieve our goal of world good, we have set a net zero target for 2070. India’s development would be environmentally friendly, clean, long-term, and dependable.”

“Even though India has 70% of the global population but only 5% of the electricity commission, we are putting in 100% effort for sustainable development,” he continued.

India and the pandemic

He remarked, when asked about India’s contribution to the world during the epidemic, “During the coronavirus pandemic, India showed its strength by supplying free meals to more than 80 million people.

India is now the world’s third-largest pharmaceutical producer”, he stated. Modi stated that now is the perfect moment to invest in India, claiming that Indians’ entrepreneurial drive, as well as their ability to absorb new technology, can provide new energy to each of our international partners.

Increase in startups across country

“In India, a few hundred startups were registered in 2014. Their number has already surpassed 60,000, with more than 10,000 new members joining in the last six months. Today, the country employs more than 50 lakh software developers “he stated.

In addition, he stated that India promotes ‘Ease of Doing Business.’ “We are making our corporate tax rate more competitive by lowering it. The finest moment to invest in India is now”, the PM added.
