Yaba Tablets Seized In Cachar: Four people were held from Assam’s Cachar district after banned Yaba tablets were allegedly recovered from their possession, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on December 10.

It is noted the state police intercepted a truck in Cachar on December 9, and seized around two lakh Yaba tablets.
In this regard, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “#AssamAgainstDrugs @cacharpolice intercepted a truck and seized 20 packets containing 2,00,000 Yaba tablets. Also arrested four accused. The efforts of @assampolice to curb the menace of drugs in the state are commendable and much appreciated. Keep it up!”
The three arrested persons have been identified as Chandan Dalu, Medhiraj Hajong and Rajdeep Pal while one Bahduh Owar Bhalang of Meghalaya Khasi hills has also been apprehended.
Moreover, Assam Police on December 8 seized 30,000 Yaba tablets and 757.15 grams of heroin in Karbi Anglong district.
