Video: Google Doodle honours English cosmologist, novelist, and theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, one of history’s most significant scientific minds, with a two-and-a-half-minute video.
About the video:
It shows Hawking’s life and work, with a narration by the scientist himself that was generated with the approval of his kin. The video is been illustrated by Matthew Cruickshank, the voice of Hawking in the Doodle was generated and used with the approval of the Hawking estate.
About Hawking:
Stephen William Hawking was born on January 8, 1942. He was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author who, at the time of his death, was director of research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge. Hawking achieved commercial success with several works of popular science in which he discussed his theories and cosmology in general. His book A Brief History of Time appeared on the Sunday Times bestseller list for a record-breaking 237 weeks. Hawking died at his home in Cambridge on 14 March 2018, at the age of 76.
