ULFA-I head General Paresh Asom said in a statement to the media today that the ULFA-I had extended the ceasefire once more in the welfare of the people of Assam.

Second ceasefire extension during the BJP-led coalition

On August 14, the ULFA-I agreed to a three-month truce with government forces.

This is the outfit’s second ceasefire extension during the BJP-led coalition’s second time in power in Dispur.
