As per official data, the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council election was held with an estimated 70.09 percent of 86,351 voters.
According to the State Election Commission of Assam in 21 of the 22 constituencies elections were held with one candidate declared elected uncontested.

Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council elections in 143 locations
Elections for the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council took place in 143 polling locations across the districts of Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, Golaghat and Jorhat with the lone constituency in Dhemaji already having a member elected.
Currently the Council is controlled by the BJP, led by Chief Executive Member Kumud Chandra Kachari, which has its headquarters at Titabar.
Furthermore, people casted their votes in ballot papers, the results of which will be counted on 24th January.
