The culprits were identified; later taken into judicial custody
Deepak Borah (47) was recognized as the perpetrator, with Bimaljyoti Bordoloi (35) of Dhopabar Katakichuk and Dilip Tamuli (45) of Dipora as his collaborators.
The gang was accused of running a teer scam in the broader Halem area, causing the locals heavy financial deficits.
After police launched a case under sections 120 (B), 34, and 420 of the IPC and 14/15 of the ‘Assam Game & Betting Act,’ the trio was taken into judicial custody.
