Recently the state cabinet of Nagaland has informed about the formation of three new districts.
The State Government on 18th December announced the decision. Nagaland now has 15 districts announced.
The newly formed districts are
Niuland, Tseminyu and Chumukedima are the new districts.
Tseminyu district was created by bifurcating Kohima while Tseminyu and Chumukedima were carved out of the district of Dimapur.
Jacob Zhimomi, a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Minister of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), took it to Twitter expressing his happiness over the decision by the Nagaland government.
The Minister regarded it as the Christmas gift mainly with the formation of two of the districts under his constituency i.e. Chumukedima and Nuiland.
Nagaland previously had 12 districts – Dimapur, Kiphire, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Phek, Tuensang Wokha, Zunheboto, Noklak.
