Shahil Dey, a 13-Year-old chess prodigy from Assam became International Master by winning his third International Master norm at First Saturday GM June 2021 tournament.
The meet has concluded at Budapest in Hungary today. With this performance Shahil became the first International Master from North East.
The chess wizard, who started to participate in competition at the age of five in Guwahati, scored 5 points from 8 rounds and got norm with a round spare. And he also played his last round game against Grandmaster Pacher Milan of Slovakia and also completed his rating requirement.
