As per reports by Time8,Model Rajkanya Baruah, as per the order by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kamrup Metro on Thursday, has been put under one-day police custody.
Court cancelled driving license
The court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the accused and also additionally ordered seizure and cancellation of her driving license with instant effect, informed by the public prosecutor.
The public prosecutor said that “Assam police earlier sought five-day custody, however, the court granted one-day custody of Rajkanya Baruah. The court also rejected the bail petition of the accused. She will have to appear in court again on Friday,” before the media.
It is to be mentioned that Model Rajkanya Baruah was re-arrested from a private hospital in Guwahati on Wednesday afternoon after the medical board of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) declared her completely fine. She was arrested on the charges of banging eight PWD workers in Rukminigaon.
Group of 6 doctors re-examined Baruah
Earlier that day to re-examine Baruah’s health situation a group of six doctors from Gauhati Medical College Hospital(GMCH) visited that private hospital as Baruah claimed to be unwell. She even passed over the police questioning earlier bringing up her health issues.
Police had written to GMCH to establish a medical board to analyze the health problems which were claimed by Rajkanya.
However, moments after her GMCH doctors submitted her health report, police immediately arrested her from the hospital wherein she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Re-arrested on the basis of another complaint
Harmeet Singh, Guwahati Police Commissioner on Wednesday also confirmed that Rajkanya Baruah has been rearrested from a private hospital on the basis of another police complaint lodged against her after the accident.
Rajkanya Baruah had allegedly attacked some other person after the street accident, claimed CP Harmeet Singh earlier to the media.
Statement of CP to media
Speaking to the media, CP Harmeet Singh said, “We issued a summon notice to Rajkanya Baruah for interrogation, however, her mother informed the police in a letter that she won’t be able to attend the investigation process for two weeks due to bad health as she was admitted in Semi-Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a private hospital. Accordingly, we requested the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for a medical board. The board submitted her health report claiming that there is nothing in her system right now which shows that she should be in a Semi-ICU.”
Based on the fresh report, two sections, 308 and 326 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), have been added, said the Commissioner of police.
