In a society where pregnancy is still seen as the most vulnerable moment for a woman. Pooja Sharma, a girl from Assam went on hiking at India’s most difficult journey, the Kedarnath Yatra trek, with her 5-month old pregnancy.
The Instagrammer can be seen sharing various pictures of her journey on social media. While some praised the moment but some also stated concern.

It took her over 12 hours to complete the 40-kilometer up-and-down excursion.
She also trekked the Vaishnodevi Mata during her one-month pregnancy earlier this year.

Pooja Sharma is the founder of the non-profit Vedham Foundations, which focuses on women’s empowerment and child development. According to the blogger, her main goal in going on the hike was to promote the idea of women being strong in all aspects of life.
Her spouse Ripun accompanied her and chronicled their adventure on his YouTube account ASSAMOR RIPUN.
