Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently embarked on a two-day visit to Lakshadweep, where he not only inaugurated significant development projects but also indulged in an adventurous side. Modi tried snorkeling during his stay, describing it as an “exhilarating” experience.

Sharing the joy on social media, the Prime Minister wrote, “For those who wish to embrace the adventurer in them, Lakshadweep has to be on your list. During my stay, I also tried snorkeling – what an exhilarating experience it was!” The shared pictures showcased him wearing a snorkel mask, snorkel, and a life vest, capturing moments of underwater exploration with fish and coral reefs. Aside from the thrill of snorkeling, Modi highlighted the tranquility of Lakshadweep’s scenic beauty. He shared a photograph of himself standing along the beach in a black kurta-pajama and a shawl, expressing how the islands’ tranquility mesmerized him.
“In addition to the scenic beauty, Lakshadweep’s tranquility is also mesmerizing. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on how to work even harder for the welfare of 140 crore Indians,” he mentioned in a post. Modi’s visit, scheduled on January 2 and 3, included inaugurating the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection and laying the foundation stone for healthcare facility renovation and Anganwadi centers. Reflecting on his enriching journey, Modi said, “Our focus in Lakshadweep is to uplift lives through enhanced development. In addition to creating futuristic infrastructure, it is also about creating opportunities for better healthcare, faster internet, and drinking water, while protecting as well celebrating the vibrant local culture.”
The Prime Minister shared various photos from his interaction with the people of Lakshadweep, expressing gratitude for their hospitality. “Had excellent interactions with the beneficiaries of various government schemes. It’s inspiring to see firsthand how these initiatives are fostering better health, self-reliance, women’s empowerment, improved agricultural practices, and more. The life journeys I heard were truly moving,” Modi concluded.
