PCB sets timing for Bursting of crackers during Christmas and New year in Assam

PCB has set the timings for the bursting of crackers during Christmas and New Year in Assam.

During Christmas and New Year’s Eve, cracker bursting will be permitted from 11:55 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

PCB notice for complete ban of bursting and selling of crackers

Earlier on October 22, 2021, PCB issued a notice for complete ban of bursting and sell of crackers with few exceptions. The notice included:

1. Complete ban has been imposed on bursting and sell of all kinds of fire crackers except green crackers in the state of Assam till further order in this respect.
2. In the state of Assam only green crackers can be sold and bursting is allowed only for two hours during Deepawali festivals from 8 pm to 10 pm; during Chatt Puja from 6 am to 8 am and during Christmas and New Year Eve 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.
3. Other than the above specified festivals, prior permission of the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the Districts will be required for the use of only green crackers for limited period (not more than two hours) in the state of Assam.
