Ola Electric, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, will give away free scooters to 10 clients who can drive 200 kilometers on a single battery charge.

On May 20, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced the marketing campaign, saying the company will award an Ola S1 Pro ‘Gerua’ scooter to 10 clients who could drive the distance with one charge.

Moreover, he said that two customers had previously completed the task.

“Looking at the excitement, we’ll give a free Gerua scooter to 10 more customers who cross the 200 km range in a single charge! We have 2 who’ve crossed, one each on MoveOS 2 and 1.0.16. So anyone can achieve! Will host the winners at the Futurefactory in June to take their delivery!” Aggarwal has previously stated.

The lucky consumers will receive their free ‘Gerua’ scooters in June from the company’s Future factory in Tamil Nadu.

During Holi earlier this year, Ola announced a special edition ‘Gerua’ color edition for the S1 Pro model that was only available for sale on March 17 and 18.

Ola Electric, India’s largest two-wheeler EV maker, increased the price of its flagship S1 Pro model by Rs 10,000, to Rs 1,20,149. (ex-showroom Delhi after FAME-II and state subsidies).

However, the Ola S1 is still available for Rs 85,099. On May 21, Ola launched the sale window for the S1 Pro. The company sold 12,000 automobiles, overtaking Hero Electric is the top seller in the sector.

“Amazed by the number of people attempting and crossing 200kms in single charge!! Almost 100! The Ola S1 easily breaks the official ARAI range too. Ola community has put to rest naysayers! We will give a free Gerua scooter to every verified achiever today” he said again on May 22.

Following multiple incidents in which Ola cars caught fire, the company recalled 1,441 electric scooters last month.

“As a precaution, we will undertake a full diagnostic and health check of the scooters in that specific batch, and as a result, we are issuing a voluntary recall of 1,441 cars,” ola electric said.

Ola Electric went on to say, “Our service engineers will evaluate these scooters and perform full diagnostics across all battery systems, temperature systems, and safety systems.”
