Based on the improvement of the state’s COVID situation, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken the decision to partially reopen the educational institutes and resume offline classes from September 6 in a phased manner.
Cautious approach from the government

CM Sarma said that vaccination of all the eligible persons is the main goal of the government and the safety of the individuals won’t be compromised.
“The Education Department would release an SOP for reopening of Education institutes on September 1”, CM added. He said that the institutes would open on September 1 and a massive vaccination drive will start on September 5 to vaccinate teachers and students and offline classes will start from September 6.
In regards to other classes and coaching institutions
Further, Assam CM asserted that the management will keep a close eye on the COVID situation after reopening of the Higher Secondary Final Year, Final Year Degree, and Post-Graduate classes. Other classes will be resumed in phased manner and coaching institutes will be allowed to open, if the COVID cases do not spike after the reopening.
