National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to construct seven flyovers and one Road Over Bridge (ROB) in the Pathsala – Nagaon stretch of the East-West Corridor for better traffic movement.
According to the officials of NHAI, the traffic flow of East-West corridor has increased in the recent times due to which the decision to construct seven flyovers and one ROB was taken. The flyovers will be constructed where the traffic congestion is more.
The spots of flyovers to be constructed
The flyovers will be constructed in Pathsala, Baihata Chariali on the Guwahati and Rangiya sides, Raha, Dimow Chariali, Kathiatali, and Borghat. The Road Over Bridge will be constructed at Jagiraod in the Morigaon district.
Of the seven flyovers to be constructed, Raha, Dimow Chariali, Kathiatali and Borghat are in Nagaon district.
By the end of this fiscal year, the tendering process of these projects will be completed.
Other tenders of National Highway Authority of India
NHAI earlier completed tenders of four flyovers and a vehicular underpass in the Jalukbari – Basistha Chariali stretch of the six-lane East-West Corridor in Guwahati.
Furthermore, in the upcoming days four more flyovers are expected to be built at Boragaon, Gorchukm Lokhra, and Basistha Chariali and an underpass is expected to be constructed in Beharbari point. The estimated cost will be ₹356.02 crores for these upcoming projects.
