MC Mary Kom is a six-time boxing world champion and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics at the Asian qualifiers in March last year.
In a virtual conference between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and athletes qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, the six time boxing world champion from Manipur, Mary Kom told PM Modi that Muhammad Ali is her hero, who inspired her to take up boxing. Also when Prime Minister asked about her favorite punch, Mary Kom replied: “Because I am a Southpaw, the hook punch is my favorite”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed boxing legend MC Mary Kom on Tuesday during a video interaction with 15 athletes from the Indian contingent who will be representing the nation at this month’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
