Lovlina Borgohain, a bronze medalist in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, returns home to Assam to a warm welcome. In Tokyo, Lovlina lost in the welterweight semifinals.

Greeted by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
On 12 August, she arrived at Guwahati airport. In the morning, she was greeted by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the airport.
On Thursday, Lovlina Borgohain landed at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) in Guwahati at around 9:30 am.
Bimal Bora, Assam sports minister, and Harmeet Singh, Guwahati police commissioner, were also present at the airport, apart from CM Sarma.
’Will be fully satisfied only after winning a Gold medal in Olympics’: Lovlina
After her arrival briefing the media, bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain said she would be fully satisfied only after winning a Gold at the Olympics.
Lovlina states, “I am not satisfied yet. Had I won the Gold at Tokyo, I would have been fully satisfied with my efforts. I will keep up my hard work so that I can win Gold at the next Olympics.”
Guwahati decked up to welcome Lovlina
Meanwhile, Guwahati, the capital city of Assam, is all set to welcome Lovlina Borgohain. Throughout the city, posters and hoardings have been placed.
The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has launched a customized chartered bus, which will take Lovlina Borgohain to Golaghat district, her hometown.
A quote pasted on the exterior of the bus read, “YOU ARE THE PRIDE OF INDIA.”
