Have you ever imagined winning a lottery using your birth date? Well, this man brought this imagination to life. Rajeev Arikkatt, an Indian expatriate employed at an architectural firm in Al Ain, UAE, has struck gold with a whopping 15 million dirhams (equivalent to approximately Rs. 33 Crore).
Indian Expatriate in UAE Turns Birth Dates into Gold
Rajeev’s persistence in participating in the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi weekly draw for three years finally paid off when his winning ticket, number 037130, emerged victorious.
The ticket held emotional value as it bore the birth dates of his two young children, aged five and eight. Rajeev’s stroke of luck came through a complimentary ticket he received as part of a special offer—four free tickets upon purchasing two. Utilizing the numbers 7 and 13 that was his children’s birthdays, proved to be his winning formula.
Despite narrowly missing out on winning Dh1 million (Rs. 2,26,01,960) two months ago with the same numbers, Rajeev’s fortunes turned around this time. Despite having high hopes of winning with a total of six tickets in the draw, it was the complimentary ticket that secured Rajeev’s triumph.
Upon receiving the life-changing call from the draw hosts Richard and Bouchra, Rajeev was speechless and overwhelmed by the realization of his victory. He said, “I was speechless. I couldn’t describe the feelings in words. I recognized Richard’s voice, as I had been listening to it for years. I knew he called the winners, but I never imagined it was the first prize. It was a surprise. This is a life-changing moment, not just for me but for others in our group.”
