IIT Guwahati Hosts Visionary Dialogue for Viksit Bharat@2047
Guwahati, September 19, 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) took a significant step towards contributing to the vision of a developed India by hosting a Development Dialogue on September 18, 2023. Aligned with the Government of India’s ambitious initiative, ‘A Viksit Bharat@2047’, the event saw the participation of Shri Shishir Kumar Bajoria, Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIM Shillong and Head of S.K Bajoria Group. Attended by students, faculty members, and delegates of IIT Guwahati, the dialogue provided a platform for insightful discussions.
Prof. K.V. Krishnan, Dean of Academic Affairs at IIT Guwahati, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guest. He emphasized the importance of engaging with the youth and preparing them for the challenges of the future. Shri Shishir Kumar Bajoria engaged in a dynamic interaction with the students, underlining the crucial role of skill development. He stressed the need for India to transition from a nation of job seekers to a nation of job providers. Bajoria commended IIT Guwahati for its robust startup initiatives, recognizing them as essential drivers of the nation’s progress. He also highlighted the significance of taking pride in India’s rich cultural heritage and uniting for the collective growth of Viksit Bharat.
The dialogue covered a wide range of topics, including startups, work-life balance, the G20 Summit, and the National Education Policy. It served as a platform for students and the speaker to exchange ideas and perspectives. The Government of India’s initiative aims to spotlight grassroots transformations and the evolving development scenarios in the country, with a focus on encouraging the active participation of the youth in the nation’s progress.
