The police in Assam’s Hojai district have caught a person who has been allegedly posting contentious comments and communal slurs on social media platforms since 2019 using an anonymous person’s profile photo.

“@Hojai Police has finally apprehended the genuine culprit who has been posting controversial comments and communal remarks on Social Media Platforms since 2019,” the Hojai police announced on Twitter.

According to the authorities, he used the pictures of an unidentified person as his profile image on Facebook under the name ‘Faruk Ahmed Ansari,’ to deceive and manipulate people.

Another case:

Earlier, four people were arrested in Dispur for allegedly faking the signature of Assam Chief Minister for a government contract. The four people are from Demow in Dhemaji’s area.

For a government contract under the state’s Jal Jeevan Mission, the accused falsified the signature of Assam’s chief minister. The contract was for Rs.3 crores, it should be noted. Pankaj Gogoi, Deepjyoti Dutta, Yemini Mohan, and Binit Poddar are the accused in the case.

Mastermind under arrest

According to insiders, Imran Shah, who orchestrated the entire scheme and is being dubbed the mastermind, has gone missing. The cops are working hard to apprehend him as quickly as possible.

According to Deepjyoti Dutta, one of the imposters, the four individuals planned to steal Rs.3 crores from the government by forging the signature of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Encounter by Hojai police

An altercation between the police and a member of the Irani Group was reported on Wednesday in Doboka, Hojai. During the encounter, the Irani Group member, Akash Yadav, was allegedly shot at by the police.

According to sources, Akash Yadav was previously arrested for robbing a total of Rs. 56,000. The accused was shot after attempting to flee from police custody, according to the police.

In another case of encounter in Assam

In Assam’s South Salmara area, a smuggler was slain and a BSF officer was seriously injured.

When the gunfight occurred, cattle smugglers were allegedly attempting to smuggle cattle across the Indo-Bangladesh international boundary.

When confronted, the livestock smugglers opened fire on BSF officers. One of the smugglers, Md Mondal, was killed in the exchange of bullets. He was a resident of Mondal Para in the Mankachar police station area and was 23 years old.
