Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Guwahati will soon get 11 Air-Conditioned bus stops across the city for the ease of passengers. The city will soon get 11 AC bus stops around the city while laying the foundation stone for the RG Baruah Road flyover on February 1.

Details of the Guwahati project
The installation of air-conditioned bus stations has been put on debate by the state government for some time, according to the CM. Now, finally, the Public Works Department (PWD) has now initiated the construction of the modern bus stoppages.
Further advanced traffic management system and construction of new parks are also included in the government’s roadmap.
Know the locations of the Air Conditioned Bus Stops
The new AC stoppages are to be built near the following locations:
Assam Agricultural University Khanapara Campus
GNT Chinmoy Mission, Sixmile (opposite Rajasthan Lime)
Purbanchal Path, Mathura Nagar
Mukesh Hyundai
Pushpanjali Arcade, ABC
Samsung Showroom (opposite Rajiv Bhawan)
Kamakhya Gate
Mekhela Ujua Path, Kamakhya Gate
Lachit Ghat
Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Park
PWD Campus, Fancy Bazaar

On his Twitter handle Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that there are other initiatives that are also to be started in the near future which includes construction of more flyovers, integrated traffic management system, air-conditioned bus stations, and construction of new parks, among others.

Moreover, he also stated “As part of our efforts to remove traffic bottlenecks in Guwahati, laid the foundation of a new flyover at Zoo Tiniali, RG Baruah Road. To be built at a cost of Rs78.93 crore, the 580-meter 2-lane flyover will be completed in 18 months and provide huge relief to the commuters”.
