Good news for the book lovers. As per reports, Assam Book Fair has been organized from December 29 to 9 January.
Publication Board Assam & All Assam Publishers & BookSellers association together has organized this fair.
Assam Grontho Mela will be for 12 days
The venue for Assam Book Fair or Assam Grontho Mela will be at Assam Engineering Institute Playground (AEI), Chandmari.
Reportedly, over 110 Book publishers and Booksellers will participate. There will be publishers from Dhaka, Kolkata and Delhi.
The highlights of the event
The highlights of the event shall be literary meets, Kavi sanmilan, release of almost 50 books.
The topic for the event will be focused on the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
For almost 2 years the Book Fair couldn’t be organized due to Pandemic.
Dr. Noni Gopal Mahanta, Imran Ahmed, Baharul Islam Choudhury, Jagdish Mahanta Chaliha, and Pramod Kalita previously shared the details at a Press Conference held in Assam Prakashan Parishad.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The official journey of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” commenced on 12th March, 2021 which started a 75 week countdown to our 75th anniversary of Independence and will end post a year on 15th August, 2023.
