For every aspiring student of the Gauhati University, the students’ election is one of the most awaited times of the year. It is a part and parcel of the emotional and the memorable event of the student life. Everyone comes out in full enthusiasm for making the elections successful.
This year the elections nominations started on 22nd November 2021 and the final election will be held on the last of November i.e, 30th November 2021.
The nominations
The procedure of election starts with the process of nominations. The students who want to stand for the elections need to put forward their nominations in the art building of the Gauhati University campus. The students from different hostels form rallies with the support of their friends, raising slogans and forming associations. Everyone comes forward together in the campus of arts building and cheers up for the desired candidates. This happens for almost two days with full enthusiasm and energy.
Eligibility
The students of the regular full-time Post-Graduate third semester, L.L.M 2nd semester, and 7th and 9th semester integrated commerce students of the university classes for the session of 2021-22 are eligible for the contesting of elections. For voting, everyone with a proper valid identity card can cast their valuable votes for the desired candidates.
Candidates are campaigning in full swing with rallies and slogans. However, the results of the nominations are awaited.
