The High Court of Kerala has dismissed the plea deal of the actor Dileep that he applied for on the charges of Conspiracy to murder. A case was registered against him by the Crime Branch of Kerala.
Dileep assault case of 2017
A case was registered on 9th of January against the actor by an officer who was investigating the assault case of 2017. The case was registered in regard to the viral audio clip that heard the actor conspiring to harm one of the investigating officer.
The Kerala Crime Branch had cancelled the bail application of Dileep as he had influenced one of the witnesses.
In the year 2017, an assault case was filed against actor Dileep who was one of the eighth accused to have been involved in the crime. An investigation was initiated after which an audio clip went viral all over the internet and on TV news channel which heard the actor conspiring to harm one of the investigating officer. The audio clip was made available to the public and to the police by the actor’s former friend, Balachandra Kumar.
The justice Ziyad Rahman AA at that time questioned the prosecution that on what grounds can the actor’s utterances be termed as ‘conspiracy’. However, the prosecution were determined and said his ‘utterances’ were actual threats directed towards the officer. There were also several evidences that were filed against him to prove the claim.
Dileep as well as his wife Manju Warrier had identified her husband’s voice and also the voices of two other who were accused in the case.
The assault case dates back to 17th of February, 2017 when an actress was forcefully abducted and molested by the accused for almost a couple of hours in her car. As per reports, The accused has forcefully entered the car and molested her in the night. In total, 10 people were involved in this crime and they also tried to blackmail her by filming her video. All of the accused were arrested in 2017 but later released.
