Assam: Dibrugarh Police busts sex racket; 4 held

As per reports, Police in Assam’s Dibrugarh district conducted raids at three different locations which has busted a sex racket.

The police arrested four persons who are associated with the case.

The arrested persons have been specified as; Babu Ali, Nazim Ahmed, Hemanta Gogoi,and Farida Begum.

Moreover, four girls were also rescued by the police during the raid in Assam’s Dibrugarh.

Police conducted raid in different places

According to Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra statement, after getting information of sex racket, police conducted raids in Gandhi Nagar, Alokpath and Nalipool area after getting and they rescued four girls.

He added: “Farida Begum is the mother of Nazim Ahmed and both have been running illegal flesh trade from their rented accommodation for many years.”

Several gangs involved in illegal flesh trade

The Dibrugarh SP further informed that several gangs involved in illegal flesh trade have been operating in the district.

“Agents of these gangs target young college girls and lure them into flesh trade business and sexually exploit them,”Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra said.

Another case of sex racket

On September, police busted another sex racket in the State at, at Basistha in CID complex, where a havaldar arrested.

According to police sources, based on the complaints of local people, Basistha Police conducted a raid.

After few days Basistha Police during a night busted a sex racket in the CID complex at Basistha, Latakata. The raid was conducted at the residence of Kamaluddin Ahmed.

However, the accused Kamaluddin Ahmed is posted as havaldar in the Special Branch. Police rescued 3 girls and also, from the house recovered a tokay gecko.

According to a source , Kamaluddin had allegedly lured the girls, who hail from Mayong, by promising them jobs after that he pushed them towards sex trade.

A case has been registered at Basistha Police Station (1754/22) u/s 3/4/5/6 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Later the accused was produced before the court.
