Deepika Padukone has been chosen to be a member of the 75th Cannes Film Festival’s exclusive and renowned jury.
The Cannes Film Festival, the world’s most renowned film gathering, highlights the best global films that advance the evolution of cinema and the global film industry.

Deepika Padukone will be a member of the worldwide competition’s eight-person jury, according to the festival’s organizers.
Vincent Lindon, a French actor, will chair the jury at Cannes 2022.
Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, actress screenwriter producer Rebecca Hall, Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, French director Ladj Ly, American director Jeff Nichols, and Norwegian director Joachim Trier will join Deepika Padukone on the jury.
The jury will select the winners of this year’s Palme d’Or awards, which will be made up of five men and four women.
“Indian actress, producer, philanthropist, and businesswoman Deepika Padukone, is a major star in her country,” Cannes said in a statement to the press.
It continues to say, “From India, he is an actor, producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. She made her English language film debut as the female lead in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, co-starring Vin Diesel. She has almost 30 feature films to her credit. She is also the founder of Ka Productions, which is responsible for the films Chhapaak and ’83, both of which she starred in, as well as the upcoming feature The Intern.”
Moreover, it says, “Gehriyaan and Padmaavat, as well as the award-winning and highly acclaimed film Piku, are among the credits. She founded The Live Love Laugh Foundation in 2015, with the goal of de-stigmatizing mental illness and raising awareness about the importance of mental health. She was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2018.”
