In a recent achievement, Darrang Police has arrested one notorious criminal who was earlier involved in various criminal activities including the lifting of an ATM. The arrested criminal has been identified as Rafiqul Islam, son of Full Babu, originally a resident of Bortaluwa village under Dhaligaon Police Station in Chirang district who stayed in a rented house in Dalgaon.
Police recovers Rs. 4 Lakhs and seized two cars
Police have also recovered a cash amount of Rs 4 lakhs and also seized two cars. He has been arrested in connection with Sipajhar Police Station case number 566/2021 under section 457/380 of Indian Penal Code and on his production before the judicial court he was remanded in the judicial custody in Mangaldai District Jail

On June, 2021, Darrang Police have arrested a ‘most wanted’ criminal as poli8 have recovered a handmade pistol from him
He is identified as Akbar Ali, allegedly involved in illegal transportation of weapons.
In August, 2021, Darrang Police arrested a drug peddler named Abdul Jabbar (32) with heroin.
In a similar robbery and time case on 2020, seven wanted robbers were arrested by Darrang Police.They have been identified as Anwar Ali (35), Najrul Ali (25), Jalil Ali (25), Niku Ali (21), Imram Ali (19), Ismail Ali (25), Zakir Ali (35). While Anwar is from Nalbari district, the rest are from Hajo area of Kamrup (Rural).
Over ten cases have been registered against them since the past one year in connection with their involvement in ATM theft , assault, robbery, burglary and other crimes. They were caught by police from Mangaldai area of Darrang district.
