At around 1:12 a.m. on Saturday, the Assam Police assisted Bongaigaon resident Ratnadeep Dey allegedly trying to enter his neighbor’s house and that he was afraid of being murdered.
• On Twitter, Dey requested assistance from the police and CM Sarma.
Dey, who took to Twitter to express himself, said: “@ assampolice at bongaigaon, they have broken into our house by cutting the grills and are attempting to encircle us with no assistance from any police personnel. please save our souls. please.”
• The Bongaigaon Police Department takes swift action.
As a result, after Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma retracted the tweet at 1:52 a.m., the Bongaigaon Police took swift action, and after obtaining immediate assistance, he praised CM Sarma and the police personnel for the rescue.
He wrote on Twitter, “Thank you for your prompt reaction, @assampolice. We are uninjured and safe. We were quite tense, and we applaud the Assam Police Department for their prompt response and for making us feel protected. You should be proud of your strength. thanks”
