Bihar Teacher Makes Students Swear at Temple Over Missing Money
Kumari reportedly took her students to a nearby temple in Asmanichak village, Rajaun block, to make them swear they had not stolen Rs 35 from her purse.
The incident, which involved all 122 students under her care, sparked outrage among villagers and parents who demanded action against Kumari, threatening to disrupt school operations if no measures were taken.
Block Education Officer Kumar Pankaj deemed the teacher’s actions as improper and confirmed her transfer, while Kumari defended herself, stating that she only inquired about her missing money and the students voluntarily swore before the deities.
She expressed shock over the villagers’ reaction, emphasizing her 18-year tenure at the school and her trust in her students. However, Mukhiya Anupam Kumari labeled the teacher’s behavior as unfair and announced a meeting of teachers and parents to address the incident, highlighting the need for community dialogue and resolution.
