Badruddin Ajmal Sparks Controversy: Due to a complaint made by Assam Jatiya Parishad leader Dulu Ahmed regarding alleged indecent remarks made against Hindu women on December 3, a lower court in Guwahati on December 13 ordered the police to file a case against AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal.

Dulu Ahmed claimed he had brought the problem to the attention of the Guwahati police commissioner and the Kamrup (Metro) chief judicial magistrate’s court after 10 days had passed. However, no case had been opened by the police.
In this regard, Pranjit Hazarika, a special judicial magistrate, stated after hearing the case, “After speaking with the complainant and following up on the complaint, it is apparent that the current situation requires a police investigation. As a result, the officer in command of the Hatigaon police station is instructed to file an FIR, conduct the necessary investigation either personally or through a junior officer, and then submit the report in its final form.”
Furthermore, Dulu Ahmed claimed in the appeal that despite inciting animosity amongst members of various religious groups and violating communal peace, the accused was nonetheless able to move around.
