On Thursday, the rate of petrol as well as diesel per litre in Mumbai was Rs 114.14 and Rs 105.12.
GUWAHATI: Following a two-day pause earlier this week, petroleum and diesel prices were raised once more on Thursday (October 28) to new highs, recording the third consecutive increase.
Petrol prices were increased by Rs 0.31-Rs 0.35 per litre across cities, whereas diesel prices were hiked by Rs 0.31-Rs 0.35 per litre.
Fuel prices hiked across the country
The cost of fuel in Assam’s, Guwahati, has risen to a record peak of Rs 104.3 a litre with the latest iteration of 35 paise per litre. The price of diesel jumped by 35 paise, bringing it to Rs 96.87 per litre.
Petrol and diesel rates in Delhi have been hiked to Rs 108.29 and Rs 97.02 per litre, respectively.
Higher taxes & international crude oil prices among contributing factors
On Thursday, the rate of petrol and diesel per litre in Mumbai was Rs 114.14 and Rs 105.12. Petrol and diesel currently cost Rs 108.78 and Rs 100.14 in Kolkata, and Rs 105.13 and Rs 101.25 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Higher national and state taxes, and also rising international crude oil prices, have all contributed to growing fuel expenses.
