Assam: Two Elephants dies after collision with Rajdhani Express in Khetri, Kamrup Metro

Assam: In an unfortunate incident, two elephants were killed after being hit by a train in Khetri, Kamrup Metro district of Assam. The elephants collided sideways and being hit with a speeding Rajdhani Express.

Incident took place in Khetri, Assam

The incident happened in Khetri’s Barahu railway station tracks, about 44 km from Guwahati in Assam on November 30, Tuesday night. The two elephants had reportedly come out looking for food.

While looking for food, they came across railway tracks where they were hit by the train, said to be a Rajdhani Express.

However, the forest officials have reached the spot. They informed the railway police, later post mortem was done after which the two tuskers will be buried at a designated spot. Nearby, locals from have gathered to pay their respects to the deceased tuskers. Locals also mentioned, a heard of elephants regular comes across the area in search of food.
