An individual who was suspected of ATM robbery in Goalpara, Assam was injured in police encounters at Nayapara when the accused tried to escape.
About the suspected ATM robber:
The suspected robber is identified as Mussadik Hussain who is are resident of Krishnai in Goalpara.
About the incident:
Sources say that police have alleged the person of being an ATM robber. The police traced him through CCTV footage from the ATM corner.
Meanwhile, when they arrived at the house, accused Hussain attempted to flee from the police machete.The police claimed that they had to use to ‘controlled firing’ to stop the accused from fleeing.
Eventually, Hussain was injured in the firing and was detained by the police. He is currently being treated in a Goalpara medical facility.
Such cases has seen drastic rise in the state over the years.
Recently, in another case of ATM robbery, the robbers looted another ATM of State Bank Of India (SBI) in the wee hours of Monday in Nagaon’s Raha.
A local said that thieves had robbed three machines from the corner and asserted that this was the first time that such incident has occurred in this area.
According to police accounts, the incident was committed by five to six men. The ATMs had roughly Rs 40 lakh in cash, which was stolen using gas-cutters from the devices.
According to the authorities, the offenders had removed the CCTV wires before the crime. They went on to say that when the cops came, the thieves had already made off with the money and had closed the ATM’s shutters during the event, making it hard for the cops to apprehend them.
