Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced one-time financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh from the Chief Relief Fund. However, this is for the widows who have lost their husbands to Covid.
Also, the Covid-induced widows will be allowed the privileges of the “Arunodoi” scheme and the monthly widow pension under the “Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme”. In the event of his completion of 1 month in the government office, he said, “The package will be of Rs 830 per month from Orunodoi, Rs 300 from widow pension, and Rs 2.5 lakh as one-time assistance.”
Earlier also Sarma announced several schemes such as Chief Minister Sishu Seva Scheme” for children orphaned by the pandemic. However, For children below 10 years and adolescent girls with no guardian, will be able to take steps to house them in one of the child care institutions.
