The problem of no helmet is increasing

Despite several laws and campaigns made to help people understand about safety during riding has miserably failed as people continue to break rules.

The major problem of people riding without helmets has emerged as an issue. People continue to violate rules.

Even after repeatedly reminding people to wear helmets and imposing fines has not helped much yet.

Guwahati Traffic Police, tweeted, ‘As directed by Hon CM @himantabiswa, for safety of our citizens, a total of 8,127 violators have been fined for helmet related violations.”

The Kamrup (M) District Transport Office (DTO), from 1st December, implemented the rule of wearing helmets by both the riders in two-wheelers in Guwahati.

The DTO will impose a fine of Rs. 1000 over violation of this rule. Also an FIR might be lodged against the repeated violators.

DTO Gautam Das said that this rule is necessary “to prevent road accidents that have increased at a large number.”
