About orunodoy

Orunodoy was the first Assamese language Magazine which was published in the district of Sibsagar in Assam in the year 1886. Instead of copying vocabulary from other languages, the magazine took the initiative to invent the Assamese dialect. The journal was a big success as it acted as the door to modern literacy in Assam.
