In what was a startling happening, a newborn baby was found dead inside a plastic bag on Wednesday, December 22. The body was found dumped near Kalatali Bridge in the Goroimari area of Dakshin Kamrup in Assam.
According to reports, the body was wrapped inside a plastic bag and was first seen by the locals of that area.
After getting a foul smell from the plastic bag, the locals informed the local police about the same.
Police starts investigation
A team of officials from Jurshimuli Police Station arrived at the spot and recovered the body.
The police team recorded the statements of the locals and sent the body to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem.
The police have started investigating the case and are on the lookout for the baby’s parents.
