Assam announces fresh SOP; Permission granted to Mobile Theater Artists

The Assam government has permitted mobile theatre artists to conduct stage plays in Assam, following COVID-19 guidelines.

Speaking to reporters, Keshab Mahanta, Assam’s health minister declared that the state government has allotted permission to mobile theatre artists to perform plays in the state.

Vaccine doses mandatory for performing any plays

Moreover he said that artists and members of organizers have to take both the doses of Covid vaccines and before performing any plays the certificate of vaccination has to be submitted to the administration beforehand.

The Health Minister said, “Seating should be arranged keeping in view of the social distance norms inside the auditorium. Hand sanitizer should be provided at the entry or entrance gate. All the audiences have to mandatorily wear a face mask.”

He also stated that the use of masks is mandatory, additionally the masks need to be kept in the entrance of the hall so that people who didn’t wear masks can wear it.

The minister also notified that no plays shall be permitted after 9 PM and moreover night curfew is imposed due to Covid 19. The Organizing Committee has to make aware the audience regarding the intake of Covid-19 vaccine and about the government COVID protocols.

Assistance will be provided to the families who lost lives in Covid-19

Earlier, the Cabinet today agreed to pay 1 time grant of Rs 1 lakh in the State, to the next of kin of every person who lost life due to Covid-19.

It shall be noted that the families drawing salary or pension from the government will not get this assistance.

Talking to the media, IPR Minister Pijush Hazarika on Wednesday, said, “We have two schemes for the next of kin of those who died of Covid-19. We have fixed-deposited Rs 7.50 lakh for 25 years in the account of each Covid orphan. The beneficiary can withdraw the amount with interest after 25 years. We have also paid a one-time grant of Rs 2.50 lakh to each Covid-19 widow.”

Further he claimed, the Cabinet has now decided to pay a one-time grant of Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin of each person who died of Covid-19. On October 2, 2021, the government will pay the amount. He notified, in the state 5,660 people died till Tuesday in Covid-19.
