The Mahindra Group on Saturday provided 15 ambulances and 15 oxygen concentrators to the government of Assam as part of its comprehensive and compassionate response to the COVID-19 disaster. This is to aid the state in its fight against the coronavirus.

Himanta Biswa Sharma is grateful

Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, was thanked by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He said, “Healthcare infra is richer by 15 ambulances and 15 Oxygen concentrators, thanks to @anandmahindra & his company’s generosity. Glad to have joined the flagging off along with @keshab_mahanta & @jayanta_malla. In this war against #COVID19 every help counts! @MahindraRise”.

Vaccination drive in Assam

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, said that 61 lakh people have already been vaccinated this month, and that number is expected to reach 70 lakh by the end of the month.

To prevent COVID, he urged people to get vaccinated as soon as possible. According to him, this shows how compassionate people are. He also thanked people in his home state and across the country for their contributions to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during the first and second waves of pandemics.

CM urges people not to lower their guards

Although COVID-19 restrictions will be eased in the first week of September, Chief Minister Sarma said that people in the state should still adhere to COVID-appropriate behavior to protect themselves from viral infections.
