On Tuesday evening, Assam Police arrested two persons in connection with livestock smuggling in the Nagaon area.
Police have also confiscated 35 livestock from a truck that was unlawfully carrying cattle to cross-border destinations.
According to reports, the animals were transferred from the district to cross-border destinations.
Saddam Hussain of Mairabari, Marigaon, and Arif Khan of Doomdoma, Tinsukia, have been identified as the people apprehended.
