Aryan Khan, accused in the Mumbai cruise ship drugs case, will no longer have to appear at the Mumbai office of the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) every Friday.
The relief came today from the Bombay High Court, which scrapped this bail condition. The court said he has to present himself in Delhi, whenever the Special Investigation Team (SIT) summoned him.
Aryan Khan filed petition
Previously Aryan Khan had filed an application in the High Court, seeking that this bail condition one of 14 be amended.
What did Aryan Khan’s advocate say?
Amit Desai Senior Advocate appearing for Khan said, “We are seeking modification of bail condition ‘J’ regarding attendance on Friday. Nothing is happening. Whenever they want he can be summoned. The Bombay branch is also not in the matter after SIT.”
Special Prosecutor Shreeram Shirsat appeared for NCB. He stated that since the investigation has now been taken over by SIT Delhi, the condition can be modified to the extent that as and when Khan is called by the SIT, he should be present
Previously Aryan Khan granted bail by Bombay High Court
The Bombay High Court had granted bail to Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and two others on October 28, 2021, and had set 13 bail conditions.
Aryan’s plea states that his bail condition could be relaxed since the Cruise Ship Drugs Case is now transferred to a Special Investigations Team set up by the NCB in Delhi. He has cited difficulties faced by him due to the presence of media every time he visits the NCB office.
