The North-East Festival (NEF), India’s largest shared platform, is back, and the 9th Edition will be held in Guwahati on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of January, 2022 in Radisson Blu hotel, Guwahati.
On display will be colourful cultural presentations about the Northeastern region, a variety of exotic cuisines, spectacular exhibitions on the finest crafts, organic agricultural and horticultural products, regional fashion and fabrics, tourism, investment potentials, and riverine culture of the region.
The festival is set to be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Chief Ministers from the North-East area, Union Ministers, tour operators, and travel journalists will all be in attendance at the festival.
The event will be free to attend. However, admission requires two vaccinations and the wearing of a mask.
The event will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook as well.
Discussion sessions of 9th Northeast festival
According to reports, a series of discussion sessions will be held, with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy chairing a DoNER Dialogue session titled “Make in North East.”
Shipping corporations, state departments, and stakeholders will attend the Brahmaputra River Conclave session. Union Minister of Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will preside over the meeting.
Agri-Horti goods will be the subject of a Buyers-Sellers’ Meet. A tourism session will be held in North-East India, which will be headed by Arvind Singh, Secretary, Government of India, and will include State Tourism Departments and various tourism stakeholders from the region.
