Under a crucial circumstance, on Sunday, August 28, Jorhat Police confiscated a fake Assam Rifles loaded truck besides a red car with ‘Assam Rifles Officers on Duty’ written on it.
Two fake Assam Rifles cadres involved
Two fake Assam Rifles cadres, identified as Sanjiv Dihingiya and Debasish Dutta, involved in it were also arrested by the Police along with the seized stuff.
According to reports, the truck was carrying cold drinks and was on its course to deliver the stuff in a storage facility owned by Rupam Majumdar, a resident of Jorhat district in Assam.
Promise of jobs
The arrested fake cadres alleged that a person who had disguised himself as an Assam Rifles officer named Dhrubajyoti Sharma, had promised them jobs in Assam Rifles and took their documents.
An inquiry is already underway to arrest Dhrubajyoti Sharma, the chief accused.
