Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, has stated that the band will stop releasing new songs in 2025. The 44-year-old artist made the announcement during a special broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

“Our last proper record will be released in 2025, and I believe we will only tour after that,” Martin added. “And maybe we’ll do some joint things,” he added, “but the Coldplay catalogue, in a sense, ends then.”

Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion are among the members of Martin’s band. ‘Music of the Spheres,’ Coldplay’s eighth album, was released in October of this year.

Next year, the band will go on a worldwide tour. Martin had stated at the time of the album’s release that the band might call it quits after three more albums.

Fans disappointed by the announcement

The news disappointed the rock band’s fans, who flocked to Twitter to show their admiration for the ‘Paradise’ artists. “Coldplay may release their final album in 2025, but one thing is certain: they will NEVER abandon us, and we will love them FOREVER.” ‘We exist because of and for you.’

‘A Rush of Blood to the Head’ (2002), ‘X&Y’ (2005), ‘Viva la Vida’ (2008), ‘Mylo Xyloto’ (2011), ‘Ghost Stories’ (2014), ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ (2015), ‘Everyday Life’ (2019), and ‘Music of the Spheres’ were Coldplay’s current albums.
