The Assam government has issued new guidelines for Covid-19 positive patients. Asymptomatic Covid-19 patients will now be released after 5days.
The Assam government has released a set of revised guidelines for the Covid positive patients either admitted to hospitals or in home isolation.
As per the revised SOP now Covid patients shall be discharged after five days of hospitalization admitted in Covid Care Centers and Covid Hospitals.
But the government has mentioned that the patient should be asymptomatic for three consecutive days.
Assam government said no RAT/RTPCR test required
In the revised SOP Assam govt mentioned that no RAT/RTPCR test is required at the time of discharge.
But for symptomatic patients the discharge decision shall be taken by the treating doctor based on the clinical condition of the patient.
However, after the discharge from the hospital, the patients will have to follow a few rules. They will have to undergo two more days of strict home isolation with self-health monitoring.
Asymptomatic patients in home isolation will be considered as discharged on the 7th day. Also they will not have to get tested at the time of discharge.
The guidelines will come into force with immediate
The guidelines shall come into force with immediate effect, said the Assam government. But these guidelines may be modified on the basis of changing nature of Covid-19.
Further, the notification mentioned that other instructions given in the earlier notification shall remain unchanged until further orders.
Reportedly, Assam recorded its highest single-day spike since the beginning of the pandemic. The state logged 8,072 Covid cases yesterday which pushed the state’s tally to 6,61,789.
The rise in Covid cases has largely been seen after Christmas, New Year and Bihu celebrations in the state.
