Minimon Laloo, a well-known author, has received the ‘Woman of the Year Award 2021’ from the Home of Letters (India), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, in recognition of her services to society and personal achievements in the fields of Literature, Education, Art, Culture, and other fields.

She also wrote ‘Meghalaya GK (India/Global),’ which was released annually, in addition to Khasi literature. Minimon’s other accomplishments include: participating in a philatelic exhibition and winning prizes at the district and state levels (MEGHAPEX); winning prizes at an amateur photography exhibition from the Arts and Culture and Tourism departments; and even acting and writing dialogue in Khasi films.
She was also a playwright and performer in the ‘U NongKia bad Ka Mem Bilat’ ‘One Act’ short play (extracted from the book Ha Jylli ka Rynsan). Her novels ‘Ngam Banse’ and ‘Ki Khana Lyngkot’ (short stories) were documented and shown on Doordarshan Shillong’s channel.
Works broadcasted on All India Radio
‘U Men Khapnap’ (from the novel ‘Ha Jylli ka Rynsan’) was broadcast on All India Radio as ‘U Ma Syngit’ through the Jaintia Programme.
She was also a member of the Meghalaya State Council for Child Welfare, the All India Poetess Conference (UP), the Poetry Society India (Delhi), and Sein Jaintia, among others.
