Srikalahasti Temple Welcomes Russian Devotees for Sacred Rahu Ketu Puja

A video shared by news agency ANI captured the poignant moment, showcasing the deep engagement of the Russian devotees in this spiritual ritual, underlining the inclusive ethos of the temple.

Rooted in Vedic astrology, the Rahu Ketu puja is renowned for its ability to alleviate the adverse effects associated with the lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu. The temple, also known as ‘Rahu Ketu Kshethra,’ has gained popularity not only among locals but also among visitors from diverse backgrounds, including celebrities, sports personalities, politicians, and industrialists.

Despite being a Hindu ritual, the openness and welcoming nature of Srikalahasti Temple have attracted foreign nationals, as seen in the active participation of the 25-member delegation from Russia. The video showcased the Russian devotees fully engrossed in the puja, exemplifying a harmonious blend of cultural diversity in the spiritual realm.

The surge in demand for Rahu Ketu pujas has not only enhanced the temple’s spiritual vibrancy but has also translated into a substantial financial boon. The revenue generated from these pujas exceeds Rs 5 crore per month, constituting over 50 percent of the temple’s total income. This financial influx has enabled the temple to expand its offerings and maintain its sacred premises.

While the puja process remains consistent across all ticket types, varying ticket tiers determine the location of the ritual, with higher-tier ticket holders enjoying the privilege of having the puja conducted inside the temple premises. The inclusive nature of the temple, welcoming devotees from across the globe, underscores its commitment to fostering a spirit of unity and shared spirituality.

As Srikalahasti Temple continues to serve as a beacon for spiritual seekers, the participation of the Russian devotees in the Rahu Ketu puja exemplifies the universal appeal of religious practices and the temple’s role in promoting cross-cultural understanding.
