NIRI 9, the first regional OTT platform of Northeast India is organizing the first ever short film festival this year. The objective of this festival is to promote new and experienced film makers, exchange knowledge, information, ideas & culture between them and the viewers around the world in context of their social and cultural ethos. NIRI 9 Short Film Festival believes in the idea of friendship and co-operation among people of the world through the medium of films & documentaries. Though film festivals have become a common affair in most countries, it still has proven to be one of the most successful ways to share culture and knowledge in the best possible medium there is. Registrations are open now and anyone willing to join can find the details on NIRI 9 Social media pages. The festival however will be held in April 2021. The winners of the film festival will get a chance to stream their films on NIRI 9 and win prizes worth Rs. 2,00,000. The festival will provide a unique opportunity to the film makers and is inviting films from all genres including – Documentary, Experimental, Narrative, Fiction, Non-fiction or Animation. The competition will be judged by some of the renowned faces of the Northeast film fraternity and will be celebrated with much glitz and glamour.
NIRI 9, the first regional OTT platform launched on 18 th January is dedicated in streaming original and fresh regional content every day. Since its launch the platform has been streaming new and fresh shows including the multi starrer, “Illegal” starring Ravi Sharma. Other shows includes “Consequence”, “Porisoy”, “Khoniker Otithi” and the dirst animated web series, “My True Love” among many others. The shows have been extremely popular and have left the people craving for more.
