Manipur: On the night of December 21, a college student named Ningthoujam Rohit, succumbed to injuries after being shot during the pre-poll clash of Heirok assembly constituency in Thoubal district.
About the incident in Manipur:
It was during the night of December 21, when the clash took place. According to the sources a barbaric incident of stone pelting took place amidst some political workers in the constituency following which a masked man shot at the father and son duo.
After receiving the news of a gunshot in the area, the police officials rushed towards the area of incident to bring the situation under control. Besides, forces were also rushed to maintain law and order.
Aftermath:
After he was shot point blank range, the student rushed towards a private hospital in Imphal, but unfortunately couldn’t survive and succumbed to his injuries in the midway. His father. Premchandra was also seriously wounded in the shootings.

The victim, Ningthoujam Rohit was a college going student and was a resident of Heirok Mayai Leikai.
There have been a lot of disturbances in the area as violent clashes have taken place among the workers of some prominent politicians.
