An old interview of Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput surfaces on the internet wherein the actor was seen speaking about his backup plan if he didn’t get a chance to star in movies.

About the interview:

The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput switched from television to films in 2013. Rajput was once seen talking about his back-up plan if he failed to sign a movie for his debut. He said he would make his ‘own films’ and in order to do so, he would also run a canteen in Mumbai’s Film City, make a documentary on it, and also star in it.

In a 2015 interview with Rediff.com, Sushant had opened up about shifting from TV to Bollywood and said: “When I quit television, people told me, you are doing a filmmaking course but what if you don’t get a film? I said, ‘I will make my own films’. I had decided that if that happens, I will start a canteen in Film City and I will buy a camera and make my own short film about the canteen and feature in it too. And I know I would be as excited about that as I am right now.”

Clarification:

Further Sushant Singh Rajput clarified that the canteen idea was simply to soak up the essence of Film City, the hub of all things showbiz: “That was not plan B; that was to spend time in Film City because I love Film City. It’s the only place in Mumbai where everybody is shooting something. It’s because of the place it is that I thought of opening a canteen there. I can eat and I can enjoy watching films and I can actually shoot my short film, so that was the place to be.”

About Sushant Singh Rajput:

Born on January 21, 1986, Sushant Singh Rajput was an Indian actor who made debut on television screens and became a household name with her TV series, Pavitra Rishta. Sushant made his silver screen debut in 2013 with Kai Po Che and since then never looked back. His 2014 film Shuddh Desi Romance and Detective Byomkesh Bakshi didn’t do well at the box-office but later, his special appearance in 2014 film, PK and recent release MS Dhoni: The Untold Story are the highest grossing films of his career so far. The actor was trained in dance by Shiamak Dawar, participated in two reality shows, Sushant joined the dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (2010).

Death:

Rajput was found dead on June 14, 2020 in hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. The Mumbai Police commenced an investigation, stating that the death was being treated as a suicide. The postmortem report stated that the cause of death was “asphyxia due to hanging,” and called it a “clear case of suicide.”

However on July 31, 2020 the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a case to investigate the money laundering of Rajput’s money from his bank accounts by Chakraborty, her parents and associates. Later, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) also filed a case to investigate drug peddling, based on phone chats forwarded to it by ED during its investigation.

On September 8, 2020 Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB in a drug case linked to the investigation of the death probe. Prior to the arrest, 9 others were arrested by the NCB in the drug case including Rhea’s brother, Showik Chakraborty. However, on October 3, 2020 Dr. Sudhir Gupta of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, leader of a forensic medical team tasked by CBI for assistance, said, “Sushant death is a case of suicide. Murder completely ruled out.”
